Each year I invite feedback from clients who have worked with me in the past two years. This post shares the results as of Q1 2024, as well as the purpose of the survey.
Survey Purpose:
My coaching-consulting services are an extension of my client’s career goal. I also deeply believe that investing in coaching with time, money, and heart needs to create a long-term Return of Investment (ROI). Meaning, the benefits of coaching continue to grow overtime, also after the coaching engagement is complete.
Thus, it is extremely important to collect feedback about what is working, what isn’t working, and what could be better.
Feedback and Bravery:
Being brave includes giving feedback, including improvement feedback.
Women are less likely to GIVE specific improvement feedback. Research shows that giving clear, encouraging, and also constructive improvement feedback is a key skill for women to build and showcase for long-term career growth as well as satisfaction in their personal lives. This moment of gifting me feedback can be a gift for you, from you.
Being brave includes getting improvement feedback.
Remember: women are less likely to GET specific improvement feedback. Research shows that missing improvement feedback leads to women who grow slower, spin longer, earn less, and express dissatisfaction with their careers (businesses). Giving feedback is a MASSIVE gift to the person who gets it (in this case, me).
Survey Insight Use:
I use this information to:
- lean into and strengthen current and future clients’ experiences and results
- add to or remove elements of my services based on what does and does not work
see what I don’t see and hear what I don’t hear - correct my mistakes, missteps, and errors
While I receive a lot of quotes as part of this survey, I honor the privacy of my clients and do not use them in marketing materials.

Survey Insights:
The overall increase in impact results between 2023 and 2024 results strengthens two of my core beliefs:
- High-quality coaching creates results over time, including after a coaching package is complete
- Asking for and implementing feedback has helped me improve my services and create ever better results for you
Additional insights:
- 1:1 sessions remain the most impactful and important aspect of coaching in data and in comments
- Group Sessions:
- 50% have never attended a group session or used on-demand materials or Slack channel
- 50% expressed that the group sessions are valuable
- 93% believe the fee/investment in coaching was worth it
- 86% believe they have a Return on Investment from coaching, including lower stress, more free time, greater income, more relationships, and more available money
Repeated free-form feedback, summarized:
- Flexibility to schedule 1:1 sessions is extremely important
- Ad hoc support through voice and written messages is very important
- Requests for more group sessions
- Requests for more homework governance and reminders of the on-demand materials
- Suggestions to provide more governance for homework, on-demand materials, and action plans
- Requests for more flexible ways to work together after the first round, sometimes called “hygiene”, “consultative”, “on demand” (check here for my new offer!)
Survey Design:
For the survey geeks (love you!) here is some information about this survey. The survey is quite extensive, was designed by a survey and belonging expert, and requires a minimum of 20 minutes to complete.
