HIGHLIGHTS:

The Shine Theory

“If you don’t shine, I don’t shine. I don’t shine if you don’t shine”. — AMINATOU SOW & ANN FRIEDMAN

The Shine Theory is really about long-term, deep, mutual investment to help each other become the best version of yourselves. Nicole argues that, especially as women in technology, women in male-dominated spaces, we have an obligation to invest in at least one other of our fellow women in technology. Look, this is not networking. This is the Shine Theory.

How amplifying fellow women in the room can lead to shared success

Nicole shares a personal story about howfour women who had seats at the table, and were responsible for specific outcomes, used the amplify method to lift each other up. We made each other — and the project — successful.

By offering to take notes during a meeting you have the power of the content, who gets mentioned, and who gets the credit they deserve.

When you have the pen, you actually have the power. You decide how things are written down, *if* they were written down, and steer the direction implicitly. Make a conscious choice.
