HIGHLIGHTS:
What is an interest interview is: to learn and to share
Interest interviews are the container to learn, share, and connect with new people. One person is there to learn, the other person to share. It is a generous sharing of time to inspire and inform another person.
Why an interest interview is a good idea
The most powerful aspect of the interest interview is the opportunity to expose yourself to new ideas, new people, new opportunities. It is a relatively low risk way to practice who you are be becoming as well as get super clear about what that means for you.
2 concrete questions you must ask in every single interest interview
- “You know, during this conversation, you have shared so much with me and I’m really grateful. Did another person come into mind as we were speaking that I could speak to? Could you introduce me to them?”
- “This conversation was so helpful. Thank you. How can I help you?”
