1. Create clarity. Allowing yourself to celebrate all you have done in the last year, the connections you have made, the projects you have done, and making your accomplishments clear by really taking the time to reflect on them.
2. Build Momentum. Identify the steps you need to talk about that goal you aim for. Be proactive, ASK.
3. Commit to Accountability; Complete a time audit, especially if you feel overworked. Discover truly how you are spending your valuable time.

I have a lot of consults with women and they tell me, ‘my boss doesn’t support me. My boss is against me. The organization is against me. I’ve missed two promotions.’ And when I ask, ‘What specifically does your boss say? What does your HR say? When you say: I want the promotion’ And it turns out more than half of the women have never even asked. You have to ask.
